1930s / 70s Eliza Dress in Magnolia Kiss
Introducing an elegant new addition to our beloved 'Be Gone with the Wind’ collection: the ‘Eliza’ dress. A stunning fusion of 1930s and 1970s influences - an aesthetic close to our Creative Director’s heart, Eliza returns this season in Magnolia Kiss, a soft, neutral-toned evolution of last spring’s best-selling Magnolia Bliss print.
This refined new colourway captures the essence of springtime serenity and pairs beautifully with our classic ecru pieces. Adorned with opulent details, Eliza is designed for graceful movement and effortless elegance, perfect for every Spring / Summer occasion.
Eliza is a beautiful new dress design, inspired by the 1930s but blends features from many periods to create a real treasure that can be worn vintage or modern depending on your whim!
There are so many beautiful features to this dress - we don't know where to begin!
Lets start with the neckline...Dress has a V neckline which rises at the back to hug the neck and a small mandarin collar. Multiple covered buttons and loops along centre front. We've taken the shirring detail at the shoulder from our late 30s/early 40s 'Ava' dress to create elegant gathering above the bust running into shirring underneath. This creates a super flattering shape around the bust-line and has echoes of earlier eras.
We've not stopped there - back of bodice gathered into a waist panel to create a flattering pouch/blouson look - inspired by an original 1930s garment.
Sleeves are full and gathered into shirring.
Skirt is cut on the bias and has a side zip.
Fabric is super soft and floaty - lightweight and unlined so that the bias sits perfectly on the body.
Key Vintage inspired features include:-
- v neckline - with shirring at shoulder and under bust
- covered buttons on bodice
- bias cut skirt skirt
- sleeves with shirring at wrist
- midi length - approx 91 cms from natural waist (NB: this will change depending on your own shape due to the bias nature of the garment)
Dry clean only
