1970s Jackets & Coats
Wide peak lapels, a nipped-in waist and a lot of attitude: the 1970s jacket was tailoring with a confident, slightly masculine edge, and a 70s style jacket is still one of the easiest ways to wear the decade. Our 1970s jackets are designed in-house and made in Yorkshire, and include the Bianca blazer in rich brown twill and the classic corduroy jacket in wine and tan.
1970s jacket styles
- The Bianca blazer is a mid-length blazer with strong shoulders and an exaggerated wide collar, named after Bianca Jagger. Wear it open over a blouse.
- The corduroy jacket is a longer-line jacket in richly ribbed corduroy, fully lined, with back vents and a single button at the waist. It is the perfect autumn staple, and nods to the 1930s tailoring that 1970s designers loved.
Each jacket works alone or as part of a suit: see our 1970s suits, or pair with a maxi or A-line skirt or a peasant blouse. Discover more in our 1970s style guide and the full 1970s collection. UK sizes 8 to 18.
