The 1950s suit was femininity with authority. What is a 1950s skirt suit?

The classic 1950s skirt suit has a fitted, hip-length jacket and a matching skirt at mid-calf, often worn with a blouse, gloves and a hat. Vintage ladies suits like this were the smart, polished daywear of the decade, and they still make a striking alternative to a modern trouser suit.

Our Renee jacket pays homage to Dior's iconic 1947 silhouette, with panelling that nips in at the waist and padding under the front hip; it is named after the model in the 1947 photographs that launched the New Look. Pair it with a premium circle skirt for the full effect.
