Inspired by an original 1950s coat, this is vintage-style outerwear at its most special. The beauty lies not only in its sweeping silhouette, but in the extraordinary pattern cutting behind it - the sort of considered construction and detail rarely found in modern outerwear.
The coat is constructed from twelve carefully shaped panels, drawing beautifully into the waist before easing out towards the hem to create that unmistakable, feminine 1950s line. Unusual shoulder panel pieces further enhance the silhouette, giving structure through the upper body while making the waist appear wonderfully defined.
An elegant curved collar, taken from an original 1950s example, frames the neckline, while seven vintage-inspired brown buttons run down the front. Full sleeves are finished with turned-back cuffs and a beautiful V detail - another little flourish that makes this coat feel so very special.
And the fabric is every bit as lovely as the cut. Made from an Italian wool blend in rich, autumnal Mocha, it has warmth and substance without feeling overly heavy. Fully lined in viscose, it's designed to slip beautifully over dresses, tailoring and winter layers.
