Since it's the season for Vintage Events like Goodwood Revival and Twinwood, we've created this gorgeous 1940s ensemble which pairs a Foxy bestseller dress with versatile jacket. Dress is our stunning, authentic 1940s inspired Tea Dress named in homage to 1940s wartime pinup 'Betty Grable' and jacket is racing green bolero. Limited numbers made here in Yorkshire.
What do we love about Grable? Not only is she THE most flattering empire line style creating the classic 1940s silhouette. This dress is comfy, versatile AND could be the perfect dress for dancing! Paired with the fantastic 40s bolero - this is the perfect set.
A most becoming dress with a demure tie neckline which can be tied to create a keyhole or left open for a more casual look. The contrast bodice is made in our bestselling reproduction vintage print - Nightblossom and as was common in the 1940s - gives the look of a blouse and skirt but with the ease of a dress. Upper is softly shirred into shape with shoulder yokes and gathered under the bust.
This dress has been designed to be as faithful as possible to the 1940s styles. A slimming fit around the waist with elegant short sleeves with subtle gathers into the sleeve head and a sweeping 7-gore skirt to float you through any dance.
Flutter style sleeves that drape the shoulder make this dress perfect for dancing as they do not restrict the upper arm at all.
Ensemble includes our 1940s style bolero, directly inspired by a 1939 sears photograph and perfectly recreates the classic boxy early 1940s silhouette. We've given this bolero strong shoulders via some fantastic shoulder pads, a simple and elegant shape and a long sleeve. Fully Lined.
