1940s Americana Button Wool Jacket - Sample
A very special Americana has emerged from the Foxy archives - and there is only one.
Our ever-popular 1940s Americana Jacket takes on a beautifully heritage feel in this completely one-off Brown Herringbone ex-sample. Expertly made and never produced as part of our main collection, this is a rare little Foxy treasure for one lucky vintage wardrobe.
The rich brown herringbone feels wonderfully authentic to the period - understated, practical and incredibly handsome. It's the sort of fabric that makes this already distinctive 1940s silhouette feel as though it could have been plucked straight from an original wartime wardrobe.
Americana was inspired by an original American deadstock wartime jacket, taking the details we loved most and carefully adapting them for a flattering modern fit.
And the silhouette is unmistakably forties. Strong shoulders meet a wonderfully nipped waist, with the body of the jacket gently blousoning above to create that characteristic 1940s shape. Bishop-style sleeves add volume through the arm before drawing neatly into buttoned cuffs, while the classic collar and carefully considered topstitching complete the look.
Two practical front pockets are finished with topstitched detailing, while the jacket is fully lined in our viscose satin for a beautifully finished interior.
Pair with high-waisted Swing Pants, Sailor Pants or a sweeping 1940s skirt for a truly fabulous heritage-inspired ensemble.
Beautifully made, wonderfully authentic and completely unique - this Brown Herringbone Americana is an ex-sample, with only one in existence. A very special Foxy treasure indeed.
