1930s Pleated Shorts - Rust

Just purchased the Black pleated shorts to add to my collection I now have 4 colours, my favourite item of clothing which I wear all the time both summer & winter.. Fabulous to dance in , look so cute & stylish

I never thought I’d ever wear shorts but these are the most stylish and flattering ever!

Absolutely love these shorts, virtually living in them , washed on a gentle machine cycle and they were fine, only thing that could improve them would be pockets

I have been waiting patiently for these to come back into stock. I love them so much, the quality is amazing. Goes well with all my other HoF blouses and tops :) true to size as well

I am very pleased pleased with my my purchase of the 1930s Pleated Shorts.
The material is of good quality and the colour is lovely. I am 5"4 and slim I bought a size 8 which, fits me perfectly and it is the kind of garment that you can be worn in any season.

I bought these as I own all previous colors and while the quality of the trousers themselves is great, we found some issues with the fit this time. For reference I own all of them in a UK8, the fit has always been perfect on my body (waist is around 67, hips around 98). This time I also got them in a UK8, and things to note were that 1) the fit is slightly smaller than in previous years. Not an issue for me, but it was for my sister, who got a size UK10 (also, has the others in UK10) yet these were extremely small on her). So in that regard, I would advise you to size up unless you are towards the lower end of the sizing range for each size. and 2) the zipper in mine was shorter than usual; after contacting the HOF customer service they informed me that there was one lot of shorts that had a shorter zipper due to manufacturer issues. This is a problem because it makes WAY more difficult to put the shorts on; although I manage with a little wiggle, I will probably replace the zipper for a longer one. I have no idea if this issue will stay in all the burgundy shorts or if they have already been able to fix it, but it is something to keep in mind while choosing the size. Other than these 2 things, the shorts look great, same flowy material as other colorways, length is also fine (unless you are tall, then maybe size up too), and they are still comfortable to wear. I like them in the summertime and also for hiking! They prevent chaffing and allow for airflow so they make walking and hiking amazing! while I cannot give them a 10/10 as the older models, I still think these rank at a solid 8/10 and are still a great piece of clothing that I am happy to have in my wardrobe.

I love these shorts. As someone with a little more butt, I was very happy to find that these provided more than adequate coverage while not looking like wannabe capris.

These shorts are pretty much the only shorts I wear anymore, I have them in about ten colors now! The construction is always superb and the fit is perfect (I have a 25 inch waist and wear size 8). I love this new wine color, it is rich and beautiful.

Have these in three colors now and might get one more ☺️

I purchased these in a size UK 18. They are so very cute and flattering. They show just enough leg to be interesting but are conservative enough I feel as if I can go to the grocery store or work in them. Thanks HOF for making flattering styles for those of us in the larger range!

I am always hesitant when purchasing pants and shorts because my waist and my hips often do not fall into the same size, my waist being 28in/71cm and my hips being 40in/102cm. However, I have had good luck with HOF clothing and their size chart is very reliable. I live outside of the UK and didn't want to worry about the possibility of returning for a bigger size, so I ordered not on my waist measurement but by my hips and purchased a size 12. The shorts are so flattering and the fit through the hips is wonderful with zero pulling. The waist, as expected, was a little bit big but an easy fix. I might have even been able to size down as recommended as the cut through the hips really is generous! The color is an absolutely delightful shade of green (seriously to die for!) and will work well in spring, summer, and fall. The material is so lightweight and comfortable and I know that these will easily become my favorite summer shorts. And as always from HOF, the quality is superb and I know this will be a garment I can wear for years to come. I am very happy with my purchase.

I’m glad I ordered the size 18 and not the 20 as I find them a bit large. I might have gotten away with 16. Am usually an 18. They are super cute and fun.

I just love these shorts. I got a UK8 (waist around 67cm, hips around 99cm), and just like the other colours they fit beautifully. The length is perfect an prevents any chaffing from happening, and at the same time the fabric doesn't "get ruched up" in the thigh areaa when walking (and I have thick tighs, so this is a requirement everytime I buy shorts!). I really really love this fabric, it doesn't need ironing, it's very fresh and breathable, and it's very easy to mantain and care for. I have them in every colour they released (except the linen ones), and in all of them I wear a UK8, so I would say the sizing is pretty consistent (at least for my measurements). I hope they release them in a dark ochre colour in the future because these would look stunning! I even bought one for my sisters and they don't want to wear any other shorts ever.

I found that than ran smaller than the black and bottle green colourways which meant I didn't have to get them taken in which was great. Thinking of adding the khaki or tan to my collection next!

They are going to be so versatile for summer. I ordered a size 8 in the black and bottle green and found them to be about an inch too big in the waist (my waist size is approx. 25.5 inches) but this was easily altered.

They are a flattering fit and cut, flaring out at the hips for shape - but not so much that they feel baggy. I have a 26-28 inch waist and 38-40 inch hips and the size 10 are perfect!

I love the style, colour and fit of these shorts. I was a bit worried that I would look like a middle aged woman in a school hockey skirt but I loved them as soon as I put them on. They're flattering even though I'm pear shaped.

Perfect for hot summer day when you are melting but still want to look put together. I have the tan ones already and wore them all the time, it was time to buy a pair of black ones. The sizing is true to size and I’m 5’9 and they are a good length for me.

I have three pairs now, I just couldn’t resist this colour as it’s perfect for the autumn days with thick tights and boots. Well made as always and easy to dress up with shoes or down with sneakers, I would recommend these shorts to anyone looking for a comfortable and versatile wardrobe addition.

The khaki shorts are my first HoF purchase and I absolutely love them! I am 5 ft 3 with a 26 inch waist and the size 8 is a perfect fit for me. The cut is so flattering and length just right, they make my short legs look really long... bonus! The material is lovely and thick; and washes really well. I have also purchased the bottle green (beautiful colour) and now want them all!

It's casual enough but also very feminine, can pass off as a skirt (have worn to office without any issues)! The material is really soft and comfortable to wear

I have them in different colours (black, olive, tan, red and now in navy as well).
My normal size 10 fits me well.

I can already tell these will be forever my favourite. I have a pair in every single colour, but these ones hit different. The green is so rich and deep and vibrant, the fit is superb (I got a UK8 for my 68cm waist -100 cm hips, and there's still some room left at the waist and plenty on the hips), and also these are great if you don't want to show your hip dips for whatever reason. The fabric shrinks lightly after washing but it's barely noticeable, and these are also a great option for hiking! If you want to look like a US Wildlife ranger, pair it with the celadon Bonnie blouse and you'll be set!

Love the green color, and I also bought the navy one. So happy I orderd two and not just one :)
Also the shorts are super flattering for women like me that have a wide hips and small waist.

They’re a lovely, vibrant red colour with a white button (looks great with a matching white blouse/tennis shoes). They’re very comfortable as well as flattering.
Size wise, definitely go by the waist. However, if you’re inbetween waist measurements I’d say to size up, as there’s not really any stretch there. The shorts flare out at the hips.
I’m constantly amazed at the quality of HoF clothing. If you’re on the fence about purchasing any of their items, I’d say go for it; you won’t be disappointed.
