1930s Maddy Blouse - Hydrangea
Maddy returns… formerly known as our 'Frill' Blouse, now dressed in a new kind of romance. Inspired by the prettiest corners of 1930s femininity, she’s all soft fuss, floating frills and the kind of blouse that makes getting dressed feel wonderfully womanly again.
Cut in our delicate sheer georgette, 'Hydrangea' is a truly special new print for Foxy. Soft blush tones bloom with painterly hydrangea florals and sage trailing leaves, creating something that feels both nostalgic and impossibly fresh. There’s a touch of cottage garden sweetness to her, but with the elegance and silhouette of a true 1930s treasure.
The gentle frill neckline, delicate ties and softly shaped waist bring all the vintage drama we adore, whilst the sheer georgette keeps her light, floaty and romantic to wear. Styled with simple skirts, tailoring or tucked into everyday separates, Maddy transforms even the quietest day into something a little more special.
Though she arrives as a mid summer dream, we can already picture her carried into autumn with ease… layered beneath cardigans, paired with rich velvet tones and worn as one of those treasured blouses you reach for year after year.
Hydrangea feels timeless in that way. Softly feminine, endlessly romantic, and made for women who still believe getting dressed should feel beautiful.
Adapted from the bestselling 1930s 'Cora' dress, this blouse has flattering V neckline with pleat details at the centre bust-line which are reflected in the gathered sleeve detail. Added to this blouse is the neckline frill and drop bow at centre front. Such a common style line in early to mid 1930s styles.
Sleeves finish just above the elbow and also have gathers on the sleeve head. Clever tie at the back nips the waist in.
This 1930s blouse merges many of our favourite 1930s features with some modern techniques to make for a very wearable blouse that can be paired with pencil or flutter skirts, trousers or even to spruce up a pair of jeans!
1930s iconic style features include:-
- v neckline
- neckline frill
- centre bust pleats
- bias front panel
- back tie
Fabric: Viscose Georgette
