Our favourite late 1930s dress in limited edition returns in Meadow print - and exclusive 1930s floral print of cream base. This could be the perfect dress for pretty much all shapes! We love the flattering V neck, cap sleeves, fitted waistband and flared skirt.
Another winning combination of top quality craftman-ship combined with a plethora of 1930s features and topped off with a vintage style fabric that behaves as it should. This is one of our all time best selling styles that we have not held back on vintage detailing.
This is a most flattering cut and is influenced by the the late 1930s dress styles worn from 1938 through into the wartime period. This dress has been designed to be as faithful as possible to these styles.
Print is a reproduction of a 1930s original - white based with stylised floral details in pink, purple, forest green, blue and teal. This dress will take you right through all seasons when paired with correct accessories. Wear with tights and boots and a woolly cardi in cooler days or free and flowing with sandals when warmer. This dress will work all seasons!
Dress has a high back neckline which hugs the back of the neck but allows the deep plunging cross over neckline to remain demure and not too revealing. Bodice of dress is based on an original vintage 1930s nightwear garment and as a result has authentic detailed shirring gathers into the shoulder. The cute cap sleeves hug the shoulder and create an elegant silhouette. Gathers under bust creates a flattering line into a slimming fit around the waist through the fitted waistband. With a sweeping lined 7-gore skirt to float you through any tea dance.

I bought this summer dress from The House of Foxy for a special wedding day and I absolutely love it! The design is classic and elegant - exactly what I love about this brand. The cut is typical of the style, fits very flatteringly and emphasises the waist beautifully.

I absolutely love my new Ava dress - the beautiful blue colour with the small flowers make it a dress that you can use for different occasions. You can dress it up with a fancy pair of shoes or a pair of sneakers. The Ava dress is my favourite dress from House of Foxy and I have several of them in different colours
This dress is gorgeous and of excellent quality.
Comes up small in size in bust fit.
I tried size 8 & 10 which both fitted but I preferred the 10 for a slightly looser fit, it’s a flattering shape, very comfortable and easy to wear. Goes with my 30s & 40s heels and my flat sandals too. Lovely quality fabric, and I love the print with the little touches of green and coral, I really enjoy wearing it.
Another great original-style Ava dress. I was glad to get this in the Bloomsbury print since I hadn’t got anything in that print the first time around. Love it!
It fits perfectly and I love the material and how it hangs and flows on your body. A gorgeous dress! Delivery was faster than I expected.
This is the second Ava dress I have purchased and they just seem to lead to wardrobe malfunctions! The first one I bought about a year ago and was quite a large fit when I bought it, so when the neckline fell open anytime I moved to reveal the whole front if my bra I thought I had bought the wrong size and put it down to that. I put a couple of stitches in it (which changed the look of the dress - and not for the better) and didn’t wear it too often.
With this one, I tried sizing down. When I tried it on, it was a beautiful fit and I thought that had done the trick but sure enough, when I went out the same thing kept happening. I ended up holding it closed for most of the day which was far from ideal.
I don’t know if this style just doesn’t lend itself to plus size (I bought a size 20 in this) or if something else has gone wrong here, I’m not sure.

I don’t think my wardrobe is too shabby, but I am positive the Ava in rust is the most lovely, feminine, new favorite thing in it! The fabric is authentic, like sturdy crepe, hangs beautifully - not like other cheap or jersey fabrics that are often used to recreate vintage looks. I am absolutely in love with this dress! Well worth the wait and the expense
lovely drape to the fabric, perfect fit - I am size 12. Really pleased that it is a good length as I am 5'6" and it is not short on me. Love your clothes!!!
This is my second Ava but I'm just in love with the color and print so even if I got the blouse and scarf already I wanted to try the dress instead of the other version because there is no synthetic in this one.
Very pleased despite the wait, and it was quicker than expected. I actually prefer the made to order process in the end as it means no waste but can get some items are needed fast.
I sized up for comfort but would say it is tts (can get in without unzipping)
