Inspired by an original American 1940s coat, this sumptuous swing coat is the perfect topping for your favourite 1940s outfits - particularly 1940s trousers and blouses.

The spear shape collar is typical of early and mid 1940s jackets of the time and is raised at the back to hug the neck. Strong shoulders enhanced by shoulder pads and full sleeves with turn up.

The swing style has a bit more fabric in it than typical of wartime styles - with over 2 metres used to match the checks as closely as possible - chevron shape into the back seam. This has a lovely swing which transitions slightly into the early 50s.
