The 'crop' or bolero jacket captures the boxy styles of the early '40s perfectly. Strong shoulders, an elegant shawl collar and diagonal patch details perfectly capture this iconic look. See how the patch details on the jacket are mirrored in the skirt pockets! The early 40s boxy shape places a lot of emphasis in the upper body and we put a lot of effort into creating the perfect shoulder shape. This resulted in a significant shoulder pad and roll with three tucks into the sleeve head. The shawl collar softens the shape slightly - by just adding that extra detail. The non-functional diagonal flaps below the shoulder emulate a pocket and are hand finished. Fully lined

Skirt is beautifully tailored and fully lined with a flattering a-line shape, typical of the 1940s. The deep (5cm) waistband creates a lovely 'nipped in' look. This is further accentuated with two side pockets which feature double diagonal flaps which trim the pockets below.
