Part of our new 'Marlene' androgynous 1930s separates collection - introducing our stunning new double breasted waistcoat.
We are really excited to welcome this fabulous new addition to our 1930s Marlene collection. A stunning double breasted waistcoat to pair with the Marlene Trousers. But you can wear this with our whirlaway skirts or swing pants too.
We have studied many photos from the 1930s & 40s era to get the design of this waistcoat correct - we settled on this design because it bridges the eras so well. A wide shoulder nods to the 1940s whilst the nipped in waist is exquisitely feminine and creates a lovely 1930s silhouette.
Key features include:-
- cross over style
- fully lined
- covered buttons
- back adjuster
**Ladies waistcoats are notoriously difficult to fit 'off the peg' since our bust sizes are so varied. To get the perfect fit to suit you - simply move the buttons to the correct position to achieve the desired fit.

Beautiful garment -- perfect fit, fabulously well researched '30s-'40s style, and the loveliest fabric, wonderfully soft to the touch but very strong-feeling too.
Brilliant to finally find early-20th-century menswear to fit a 'female' body. I have received lots of compliments already!
I finally opened and tried on the Marlene Waistcoat and trousers after much anticipation. Both items exceeded expectations. I am consistently a 10 in HOF, 34-28-37, but I could have gone up a size for a less fitted look in the trousers. The Waistcoat fits perfectly in a size 10. The navy is a very rich, dark color. The fabric is heavy enough for winter but light enough for fall and early spring. I plan to wear it with grey trousers and skirts, jeans and the matching Marlene trousers. The waistcoat is a financial commitment but worth it, IMO. This is a piece you keep for life.
