A brand new cardigan heavily inspired by the 'Datemaker' style very popular in the early and mid 1940s.
Based on a knitwear pattern from the 1940s, you cant get more wartime 1940s than this beauty!
Style creates the classic 1940s silhouette with strong squared shoulders and nips in at the waist with adjustable slide belt. Cardigan style is open at the front with rounded neckline. Stitch is a simple wide rib on sleeves and main body with a finer stitch on shoulders which creates a yoke effect. Stitch creates an attractive twist effect on sleeves.
Belt feeds through a bakerlite style buckle at front - requires belt to loop back to secure.
Key Features:-
- open front
- rib stitch
- bakerlite style buckle
Fabric: 50% wool 50% acrylic
Washing instructions: Cool Machine Wash - wash as wool
*please note: Due to the traditional design of this garment, there are sometimes inconsistent stitches and other imperfections in its overall finish. Please note that these are not faults, but reflect more the artisan nature of its production techniques.

There is natural stretch in the knit but we recommend you follow bust and waist measurements - if you have a larger bust, the cardigan will accommodate but may seem shorter.
We have created the below guide to advise:-
XSmall: UK Size 6 - 8 (bust size up to 34" - waistband stretches up to approx 27" )
Small: UK Size 10 - 12 (bust size up to 36.5" - waistband stretches up to approx 30")
Medium: UK Size 12 - 14 (bust size up to 39" - waistband stretches up to approx 32")
Large: UK Size 14 - 16 (bust size up to 42" - waistband stretches up to approx 34")
XLarge: UK Size 18 upwards (bust size up to 44"+ - waistband stretches up to approx 37")
NB* Please note that the above measurements are approximate and some variation between garments may occur as a result of the garment's knitted nature.
Stunning, this is one of my new favourite cardigans, I might have to get the pine one next.
This sweater is lovely! I was caught by the unique style. I DO wish the wool content were higher, but the quality is still fantastic. The color is a beautiful mauve. The sizing is a bit small on this sweater. I generally wear a 10 or 12 in items from HOF, which put me between a small and a medium. I ordered a medium and I'm glad I did, because the small should have been too short in the sleeves at the very least. Overall I'm still very pleased with this sweater, and would recommend it highly.
