We are excited to announce the arrival of another fabulous new style to add to our reworked collection of vintage inspired blouses. Authentic, packed with details and designed to create the correct silhouette for the era.
This 1940s inspired blouse is the right length to wear over natural waisted trousers and skirts but perfect to tuck into high waisted styles, too. It has all the hallmarks of that iconic wartime and mid 40s styles - simple and elegant with a high jewel neckline but enhanced by assymetical darts on the wearer's left shoulder. This creates a lovely cowl effect in the fabric and gives plenty of room for the bust. You could make this look even more 40s by adding shoulder pads! The blouse has the typical buttons up the back and we use our bakerlite style buttons for this.
*Dont be afraid of the button back - we have worked out the best way of getting this beauty on. Undo the top and the bottom buttons, pull over the head and then easily do them back up - voila!
Produced in our signature 'soft coral' vintage reproduction rayon crepe - perfect for spring and to pair with a variety of skirts and trousers. Please note that colours vary on different screens and we may not always be able to accurately represent it.
Key 40s features include:-
- high jewel neckline
- grown on sleeves
- bakerlite style buttons on back
- assymetical pleats into shoulder
Made in Europe
Fabric: 100% rayon crepe

Lovely top, easy to get on and off per instructions. Colour is very nice and draping effect at the shoulder very flattering. The only thing for me it that it feels a little snug around the neck, though I rarely wear this style of neck cut so may just require getting used to.
I seriously lusted after this blouse after seeing the initial lookbook, so when I saw it on the website I ordered it immediately!
It has a really beautiful draped neckline & huge buttons at the back. The buttons are easy to do up/undo, but as recommended it’s much easier if you only undo the top & bottom buttons & pull it on over your head (then you only have 2 buttons to do up!).
It comes with a spare button! Very much appreciated.
I ordered the size 10, despite being closer to the size 8 (barring a bust measurement of 34”). I sometimes find blouses to be too tight on my upper arms, so wanted to avoid that. Personally, I think I could have sized down, as the blouse is a bit too big, and is loose on the arms (you can only see a hint of the lovely shaping at the waist). It’s lovely tucked in though - perfect for work and play.
Really recommend this style & look forward to any future colourways.
