A beautiful, demure and feminine shirt style blouse - yet an eternally practical addition to any vintage lady's wardrobe. This blouse screams wartime 40s style with its demure neckline and hollywood style bishop sleeves.
This 1940s inspired blouse would have been a mainstay item during the late 1930s and throughout the 40s. It looks great with our Swing Trousers and 40s 'Whirlaway' Skirt. This blouse has been made in a specially sourced rayon crepe fabric - in Soft Coral, a popular colour for the time and feels really vintage!
Key features include:-
- iconic gathers into shoulder yoke at front and back - emphasises bust
- high neckline on this style is faithful to the original garment styles
- bakelite style buttons
- waist darts to draw in at the waist
- iconic 40s style bishop sleeve with gathers into armhole and at cuff
Sleeve length - 54cm from sleeve head to start of cuff. Cuff is 4 cm.

A gorgeous blouse. I love it so much I bought 2! Lovely colour and such an authentic shape. The only downside is that the material is a nightmare for creasing.
Love this blouse. It’s such a staple piece & goes with everything. The bishop sleeves are so comfortable & flattering & give that authentic look effortlessly. The blouse comes with a spare button which is always appreciated.
The material is great for summer & the upcoming transitional autumn months - I find this material often shrinks more than 3% after washing (I typically hand wash in the washing machine at 30 degrees), but given a quick steam it goes back to the original size easily.
Size wise I found this came up a little large. I am usually a UK8 but more often than not have to size up to a 10 for long sleeves blouses with no stretch. The UK8 for this blouse was perfect; a little blousey but flattering. Not tight at all. Like another reviewer I had to move the buttons on the cuffs so the sleeves looked right but it wasn’t too difficult to do.
