A must for forties fans - this is a classic 1940s dress we have called 'Ingrid' in homage to the Casablanca actress Ingrid Bergman.
Based on an original American vintage dress from the 1940s, this is a classically simple shape designed to show off the stunning print which is also based on an original.
The beauty of the dress is the simplicity of the bodice, a very typical 1940s feature. Soft grown on sleeves which hug the shoulder give you the option to add shoulder pads if you really want to emphasise a 1940s look. The high sweetheart shape neckline is flattering but demure. Skirt is a typically lean 1940s skirt but has enough swing to float you through any dance. Also note the lovely 1940s waistline feature of two rounded tabs.

Such a beautiful print and fabric. Very flattering and as always beautifully tailored.
This is one of my favorite dresses ever. The cut is so flattering and really highlights the print. It works for the office as well as dressier occasions. It's a tad long waisted on me since I'm short but it's forgiving with the belt and peplum design. I love this so much I'm thinking of buying a second one just in case anything every happens to the first!
