A splendid new addition to our 40s separates collection - these fabulous new trousers are an authentic rework of an original 1940s trouser pattern adapted for the modern figure and in modern fabric.
We have selected a new heavier crepe for these trousers - you will really appreciate the quality. Inspired by chic hollywood icon - Katherine Hepburn - who rocked the trouser suit in the 1940s.
Packed with features, this style has a wide leg with turn-up, a high waist band, side zip and fastens with a single shell-look button. The wide leg is approx 22 inches circumference. Deep pleat on the front runs into a strong and slimming crease. Style also has 2 darts on the back. Topped off with contrast top stitching - this is a fantasic and authentic style.
Key 40s features:-
- wide leg
- natural waist fit with deep waist band
- turn up
- side zip with shell-look button
- deep front pleat
- contrast top stitch on pockets & waistband
- 400gsm weight crepe fabric for beautiful drape
Fits on the natural waist with a wide waist band. So comfy.
Very wide leg style is great for dancing and was very typical in the 30s & 40s during the rise of sports casual styles.
Leg length: 32" (approx 31.5 inside seam and 0.5 into rise)
Fabric: Top qualiry rayon/poly with a touch of elastene for stretch
Care: Cool hand wash
Manufactured in the UK
These trousers fit on the natural waist but do have a nice wide waist band which can fit slightly high on some people. The fabric has some stretch but this should be considered as a comfot stretch.
This is definitely a style that will create shape but will require correct underwear ;-)

Expected it not to fit since I gained weight lately. Thankfully it does. I am size 12uk or 40 eur fits really well. Looks nice. Material is heavy and seems to keep its shape. These are a little too long for me - I am 162cm- they may work with really high heals. Seems the fold at the bottom not very stable and may need to be adjusted sometimes. Happy with it.
I've been wearing more trousers while working from home and these are really comfortable as they don't dig in at the waist when I'm seated. I'm 5'4 so had to turn them up but I look taller somehow when I wear them!
I also like that they have decent sized pockets so my phone doesn't fall out (more of a modern day issue than a 1940s one but no one wants their phone damaged!)
A great wardrobe staple and I plan to buy more colours in the future, maybe green or rust
